Welcome to the Home Page for Dev’Sun Labradors, owned by Cindy , Ken & Tessa Gurney. Dev’Sun Labradors is a small hobby kennel located in the quaint, beautiful town of New Braintree, Massachusetts. We have had Labradors for 16 years, and have been involved in the show/ breeding aspect for 5.5 years now. Claire White Peterson of Stonecrest Labradors & Laura Dedering of Folklaur Labradors are our mentors and friends. They are the reasons behind our show success and Dev’Sun Labradors. Devon, our Ch. Stonecrest’s Mighty Endeavor is the foundation of our breeding program, along with Lovey, our Folklaur Love Story At Dev’Sun. I would like to give many thanks to these ladies for their trust, expertise and willingness to take a newbie along for the magnificent adventure of Labradors.

Our goal here at Dev’Sun is to produce beautiful, healthy, intelligent, versatile, and extremely loving Labradors who will be cherished family members for their entire lifetimes. To that end we carefully select all breeding stock that have, OFA hip and elbow clearances, CERF yrly, and Optigen testing. They also need to have a title in conformation or have proof of potential in the Specialty breed ring. This is where the top quality bred Labradors are showcased.

Our litters are carefully planned, and not very frequent. The intention of each breeding is to keep one or two show/ breeding quality babies to keep our lines going and to hopefully contribute to this fabulous breed. All other puppies are sold on a Limited Registration, Spay/ Neuter contract. We do this because we sincerely believe that breeding is a serious responsibility and only the individuals who are the best representatives of the breed, with correct conformation, temperament, and clearances should be bred to preserve the very qualities of the breed we hold so dear.

Here at Dev’Sun Labradors our Labradors are our family first and foremost. They all live inside the house and are an integral part of our every day life. We are a small kennel and keep the Labradors that are chosen to stay here, whether they turn out for showing or breeding or not. We also have rescued Labradors, a handicapped Lab, as well as rescued goats and an old paint pony. That is what we are all about- Family We also volunteers for breed rescue as well as Equine rescue in our area, whenever we are called upon.

Take a minute or two and look at our slide show. This is where we live, our kids, our very lives. But please do not look at all of the fur bunnies. They are truly a small price to pay for all the love, laughter, and loyalty these kids bring to our hearts and our lives. Enjoy!
